Overview
The Reservoir Engineer is responsible for providing engineering and economic evaluation support for Oil & Gas Mineral & Royalty property acquisition. The candidate must have relevant engineering experience in unconventional reservoirs in multiple basins. The primary function will be to perform oil and gas well valuation and property assessments and generate reliable production forecasts for the Company.
Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Essential functions may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. Predict reserves and performance for potential property acquisitions
Estimate reserves for producing and non-producing properties
Perform reservoir characterization studies
Perform internal reservoir reports for existing asset partnerships
Analyze data to make risk adjusted recommendations, and effectively communicate the analysis
Develop cost-effective reservoir monitoring program
Education, Licensing, and Certifications
Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering field; or Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering field and 10 years experience in the position
Experience
Experience with unconventional reservoirs in multiple basins
Experienced in Rocky Mountain, Appalachia (Marcellus/Utica), Gulf, and Texas regions
Competencies, Skills, and Knowledge
Strong computer skills, including primarily Petra, Aries, and PHDWIN
Ability to produce technical documentation
Ability to work independently, make decisions, and work on multiple projects at one time
Good oral and written communication skills
Good organizational and time management skills
Entrepreneurial personality who is can function in a dynamic, family owned business culture
Must be articulate and an organized self-starter.
Quality / detailed oriented – demonstrates the discipline to provide an accurate and reliable
Team oriented – must have the ability to effectively work with a team to deliver required results
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, a large / dynamic workload, and adhere to strict deadlines
