Description
Looking for a Senior GIS Analyst local to the West Texas area or willing to travel from the Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, or San Antonio.
Compensation:
Salary Position. Range $70,000-$80,000/year according to experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Create, update and manage GIS tables and/or databases (Enterprise Geodatabases, SDE, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
• Develop and implementing GIS solutions, building maps, comparing historical mapping and survey data against present-day tax parcel identification numbers, deed plotting leasehold, and determining HBP status of oil and gas producing properties.
• Build organize, maintain and manage all of Optima’s client and organizational databases including confidential data.
• Review title documents including real property legal descriptions to assess real property boundaries.
• Build complex KMZ file or equivalent to provide satellite imagery based work product that allows a client to properly navigate a leasehold or acreage position
• Query various databases for data extraction to build tables and reports.
• Prepare regular drilling and permitting activity maps
• Work with high level, cross-departmental teams utilizing GIS and/or data driven technology in order to improve collaborative efforts in GIS and data visualization across the corporation.
• Provide GIS technical assistance, mentoring, and support.
• Compile, manage, and submit department specific reports and updates.
• Develop and deliver training in GIS for applications, workflows, and general GIS principles.
• Participate and contribute to collaboration/partnership with IT for infrastructure placement, as well as planning future infrastructure development to meet identified system deficiencies.

Preferred Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s Degree in GIS is strongly preferred.
2. Highest proficiency in ArcGIS required
3. Experience with technical applications, including geoscience, engineering and mapping software. Advanced Excel, and PowerPoint experience preferred
4. Experience working in GIS, analytics, and data management; knowledge of GIS software and technology (experience with ESRIs ArcGIS application suite preferred).
5. AAPL Member and/or Certified preferred.
