Overview
The Senior Landman is responsible for the administration and management of the Company’s mineral and royalty assets. The qualified candidate will demonstrate their comprehensive knowledge of land title, curative, contracts and agreements, industry procedures and regulations, land computer systems
Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Essential functions may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. Track and report the development of the company assets and partnership assets
Review full title associated with each acquisition
Maintain and effectively manage an asset schedule that incorporates wells, production, acreage, and additional metrics as identified by the Company, and report on these metrics on a regular basis
Manage the timely review, execution, and return of division orders.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with the DO departments of the Operators related to the Company’s properties
Ensure that each asset is on pay status with the operator, and identify and cure any discrepancies between operator and company records.
Responsible for the accurate and timely reporting on various aspects of the Company’s mineral and royalty assets
Manage the leasing of company minerals to ensure Company minerals are efficiently leased
Collaborate with Accounting to determine various production and revenue figures as they relate to the Company’s mineral assets
Manage asset lease provision and insure that Company is being paid correctly on property interest
Additional projects, support, and duties that contribute to the success of the Company
Education, Licensing, and Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant field (i.e. Business Administration, Petroleum Land
Management, Energy Management, etc.)
Experience
10+ years of experience of in-house land work with an operator or land company
Background in land, title, legal, management, and/or acquisitions
Preferred
Prior experience working in the following basins: Appalachian, DJ, Powder River, and Williston
Competencies, Skills, and Knowledge
Required
Understanding of contracts and acreage positions
Expert in oil and gas land transactions and land management
Stong analytical and research skills
General knowledge of multiple state and federal regulations in our areas of operation
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
Good oral and written communication skills
Good organizational and time management skills
Entrepreneurial personality who can thrive in dynamic family office
Must be articulate and an organized self-starter
Must be highly motivated with the ability to learn quickly
Quality / detail oriented – demonstrates the discipline to provide an accurate and reliable work product 100% of the time
Team oriented – must have the ability to effectively work with a team to deliver required results
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, a large / dynamic workload, and adhere to strict deadlines
