Hess Corporation, Houston, TX (Division / Transfer Order Analyst) 10/2012 - 3/2013 • Reviewed information and documents received from land brokers and royalty interest owners in order to transfer payments, suspend payments or remove payments from suspense and communicated with those same parties as necessary to obtain missing and required title documentation on this contract assignment. • Compared decimal interests in current pay decks with those called for in new title opinions, reconciled the differences and, when appropriate, changed the interests on future decks. AgriBank F.C.B., St. Paul, MN (Mineral Title Specialist) 11/2010 - 5/2012 • Analyzed division orders received from oil and gas company lessees for accuracy of decimal interests paid to AgriBank for the Bank’s mineral interests in wells primarily located in North Dakota and Arkansas. Communicated with lessees as necessary concerning any errors, discrepancies, title issues, past due payments or past underpayments. Set up corresponding well and division order records in AgriBank’s computer database. • Reviewed weekly drilling permit listings in North Dakota and Arkansas to determine which of the newly permitted well spacing units included land in which AgriBank owned a mineral interest. Set up records for these prospective wells in computer database and continued to monitor their drilling or producing statuses over time. • Compiled monthly lists of expiring AgriBank oil and gas leases. Examined leases for term, acreage covered and the existence of Pugh or other relevant clauses; looked up well drilling statuses and well spud dates on State government websites. Allen Click and Associates, Austin, TX (Title Attorney) 8/2008 - 11/2008 • Researched land ownership at abstract plants and courthouses and drafted title opinions on Microsoft Word for a contract natural gas pipeline project. • Used Tobin maps to locate the proposed route of the pipeline and to determine the appropriate tracts to examine. International Paper, Houston, TX (Lease Analyst) 2/2007 - 8/2008 • Reviewed deeds, leases, Tobin maps and other relevant documents to determine and record International Paper’s mineral ownership and mineral leasehold statuses on land throughout the United States on this contract assignment. • Recorded findings in I.P.’s computer database, using I.P.’s mineral recording software. Cross-referenced the ownership records with the appropriate deeds, leases and other relevant documents, and used I.P.’s G.I.S. computer system to attach graphic representations of tracts to ownership records. • Winner of numerous monthly production contests. • Trained new employees. Derwen Resources, Houston, TX (Lease Analyst / Landman) 12/2005 - 12/2006 • Reviewed property records and interviewed people to determine mineral ownership and mineral leasehold statuses on land located within both new and developed oil and gas plays throughout Texas on this contract assignment. • Located open mineral interests that Derwen then purchased or leased. • Compiled spreadsheets and reports, using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. • Hired, trained and managed a team of new employees. First American Title, Houston, TX (Title Examiner / Abstractor) 2/2004 - 8/2005 • Examined public records to determine whether this title insurer should insure properties throughout Texas. • Learned, oversaw and maintained complete physical title plants for Nueces, San Patricio and Jefferson counties. Trained other employees on the proper use of these title plants. • Often went back many years in title plants to construct chains of title and search for relevant documents. • Used maps, plats and computer programs such as Title Data and Data Trace.
